IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The Global Cardiac Surgery Scholars Programme recognizes and supports surgeons and teams who are expanding access to cardiac surgical care in low- and lower-middle income countries. Across many regions of the world, clinicians are building and strengthening cardiac surgery programmes under challenging circumstances and developing innovative solutions to meet the needs of their patients and communities.

This programme highlights those efforts by bringing together surgeons whose work is advancing clinical care, programme development, and health system innovation in cardiac surgery. Selected scholars will join an international community of colleagues to share their experience, present their work, and contribute to discussions about lessons learned that may be relevant to other emerging cardiac surgery programmes.

Submission of a scientific abstract or structured presentation adhering to the two pathways detailed is mandatory to qualify for a Scholarship.
